Rock Wall Installation

At Maka’s Akamai Masonry, rock-wall building is more than just another service—it’s a skilled trade passed down through generations. Our roots go back to when my father operated a rock-wall company here in Hawaiʻi through the 1980s, ’90s, and early 2000s. Now, in 2026, we are carrying that knowledge forward while paying tribute to the family, craftsmen, and teachers who came before us.

No two rock walls will ever look exactly alike, and that’s the beauty of it. Every stone has its own shape, color, and character. Whether you choose moss rock, blue rock, coral stone, veneer, or another style, each piece is hand-selected and carefully placed to create something made specifically for your property.

We can build retaining walls, boundary walls, fence lines, columns, planters, entry features, and decorative rockwork. Different stone patterns, finishes, grout colors, stains, and design details can all be used to give your wall its own look while blending naturally with your home and surroundings.

When a rock wall is built properly, it is more than just a strong wall. It becomes a handcrafted piece of artwork—something functional, beautiful, and made to last for generations.

That’s what we bring to every project at Maka’s Akamai Masonry: years of hands-on experience, local knowledge, family tradition, and pride in keeping Hawaiʻi’s rock-wall craftsmanship alive.
